I had been a busy bee for sometime now with a discontinuous flow of posts but in the coming days I have been invited to attend a Medicine Update where I will get a chance to meet some eminent doctors and at the same time listen to what they have to share with us on some of the latest and most challenging topics in medicine today. With me preparing for it, I decided to share a few notes of my own on the event proceedings.

First up is the Cardiac and Non- Cardiac Applications of 64 slice CT Scan. The first of its unit came way back in 2005 as of what I remember. It can image the entire human body in 30 seconds taking slices at an interval of 40 mm. It is particularly useful in non-invasive localisation of cardiac and cancer related anomalies. I’ll get an up close update on this and detail it out in the coming days.

Following this we have a talk on the Heart Rate Reductions new therapeutic options that can help in many conditions including arteriosclerosis. Then comes the Non-Invasive Ventilation techniques and management of Upper GI bleed. After these we will have an hour break in which all of us will have lunch and socialise a bit and this would provide me with sometime to interact with a few big shots.

Soon after we will take a look on the latest in management of Acute Stroke and Nephrotic Syndrome. Both of which are very commonly seen yet at times difficult to diagnose and manage. This will conclude the event and I hope to get on with my notes on what I feel were really helpful and amazing. I still wonder when mobility will join hands with medicine. Charlie gave a heads up for many beginners on getting the most medicine from our mobile devices courtesy Rita, do catch the full amazing post here. Great stuff Rita, as always.

I feel we can put N79 Active to some medical use in management of Heart Rate Reduction by lifestyle modification. I’ll try to get a unit but am not sure. Anyways, ill catch you all later on detail out the event in the coming days.
